I've never been out for New Years
I worked most nights either waiting tables or bartending…there were three years our band played shows at divey bars but I was in a crappy cover band trying to relearn guitar at the time. For the past four years we’ve thrown parties here but those were getting boring, like it was just going through the motions.

It is going to be January
It is a special month….Jimmy’s birthday is on the 9th.
Back in college we used to wear Zeppelin album covers as hats and go about town singing Zep songs and playing all Zep on the jukeboxes.
I never said I was normal…I preferred wearing the Zep III for my hat so I could show the ladies my spinning wheel on the cover. Surprisingly enough, I never got a phone number those nights...

I love reading your posts about your daughter,you seem like such a wonderful dad. My dad is the greatest person in my life and he is my best friend so I always smile when I read those fatherly posts.

I agree it is hard to watch, but it is like being a fan of Ali or Willie Mays (people that stayed on past their prime)…it is comforting for geezers like me, like...

It truly is and end of an era if he doesn’t.
All of my NYE have been spent with Dick Clark counting down even if it has been somewhat embarrassing the last couple of years.
